Krak Chocolade is attending the annual Chocoa event during the Amsterdam Cocoa & Chocolate Week taking place on February 5-11th 2024.
I was honoured to have received multiple awards from the Academy of Chocolate in the past few years. The 2021 awards stood out from the rest — this is when I received the Golden Bean award, not-so-humbly called the Oscar of the chocolate world, for my Sierra Nevada 55% dark milk bar. It is an award that is given out to only one chocolate maker in the whole year. That same year, Rita from Carambole Chocolate, my close partner in the bean-to-bar community and the author of award-winning chocolate bonbons, received the Golden BonBon—the brother of the Golden Bean— for one of her artistic creations.
Our collaboration with Carambole Chocolate has been tight and fruitful during the last years, and we would like to use the opportunity of being at Chocoa this year to expand it. We are going to present our collaboration that unveils the journey from a cocoa bean to a Krak сhocolate bar, and then from the Krak chocolate bar to a Carambole bonbon. That's why this year we are going to share a stand at Chocoa. It's a great opportunity for you to visit us and explore the new releases and innovative concepts we have prepared for the event.
The innovation part is going to be the centrepiece of our presentation; it's Carambole's unwavering creativity and strive for sustainable solutions that brought it to life. It involves edible packaging crafted with my chocolate and is posed to be a sustainable alternative to using plastic packaging for chocolate bonbons.
At my stand you can find quite a few more new releases:
- Launching 2 new Krak Mexico bars Made in exclusive nano lots from old criollo genetics ( like pentágona, lagarto) that were both awarded Gold at the Academy of Chocolate Awards in London in 2023;
-Krak Thailand Chanthaburi — a single-origin 70% dark chocolate bar
-Krak's innovative collaboration with Brouwerij Moersleutel, unveiling how the combination of engineer precision and creativity could create a synergy between such different products like beer and chocolate.
We hope to see you at Chocoa 2024 and we are looking forward to sharing with you the experience of crafting bean-to-bar chocolate.
